Fix underwater internet cables

Cold Abyss is a free adventure game that takes place in the depths of the ocean. There, the player assumes the role of a diver navigating the dark ocean floor, repairing 10 broken internet cables, and checking their oxygen level. The game doesn’t feature combat, though.

Assume the role of a diver

Cold Abyss immerses players in an atmospheric game of exploring the ocean floor with diminishing oxygen levels, which adds tension. Using your navigation device, you’ll find not just unrepaired cables but also oxygen machines for refilling your oxygen supply. It also shows how many cables you have fixed so far.

However, interacting with an oxygen machine or the elevator triggers a typewriter sound effect, which doesn’t suit the game’s setting, thus breaking immersion. Furthermore, some players have to resort to using “Alt + Tab” to exit the game as the “Esc” function doesn’t work as intended.

An exploration-centered title

Overall, Cold Abyss is perfect for gamers who prefer non-combat-oriented gameplay. With the help of your navigation device, you can find internet cables and oxygen machines scattered all over the ocean floor. However, the typewriter sound effect is annoying and immersion-breaking.

PROS

  • Ideal for players who prefer non-combat gameplay
  • Tense atmosphere
  • Features a navigation device

CONS

  • Typewriter sound effect breaks immersion
  • Players unable to exit the game via “Esc”
